Spreading Light on Dry Eyes: Sjögren’s Syndrome Awareness Drive at PPG!
On account of World Sjögren’s Syndrome Day, the brilliant minds of PPG Institute of Optometry took to the campus to make a real-world difference!
Our dynamic optometry students rolled up their sleeves, designed informative posters, and split into energetic teams of 3 to kickstart a massive campus-wide awareness campaign. From educating peers on dry eye symptoms, early detection, and eye care, they left no stone unturned!
Our student teams connected with students across Arts, Pharmacy, and Engineering departments! But they didn't stop there—they also reached out to our hard-working PPG administrative & support teams.
DEWS-The awareness didn't end with conversations! Students guided participants straight to our Optometry Lab for a specialized DEWS (Dry Eye WorkShop) screening, offering hands-on guidance on eye health, tear film assessment, and relief strategies.
Kudos to our future optometrists for stepping beyond the classroom, advocating for eye health, and bringing clinical care to our entire PPG family!
